It’s HERE…
Our Friend Bill flies down to Key West to help recover my boat and return her home. But will we even make it out of the boatyard?
Exclusive Video/Photo Version of This Episode
The full audio episode is free everywhere once released. The expanded video version, with exclusive photos, video clips, and a more immersive experience, is already available free to the How Not To Sail Patreon Crew or as a small one-time Patreon purchase.
This partial storyboard view will give you a sense of how many photos and video clips I put into this puppy…

Trailer
This’ll give you a sense of what’s in the video version. Sadly, YouTube force-chose the least relevant thumbnail here, but ANYway…

Patron Doings
Our friend and Sailing Master Wayne Stinnett is busy crushing it in the gym these daysโฆand I just recently discovered what may be his 49th book, No Collar to Tank Topโฆwhich is kind of a sequel to his book Blue Collar to No Collar. One is about his transition from truck driver to super-successful writerโฆand No Collar to Tank Top is about going from sitting in a chair too much while writing, to throwing around significant amounts of iron in the gym. The rest of Wayne’s catalog is action/adventure–and they’re all good!–so check ’em out!
Sondra and Jimmy Lee are making me jealous in Central America…
…and I took Our Friend (and Sailing Master patron *and* raffle winner) Tal Sutton for some breezy sailing recently.
And ladies, if you have curly hair and need some help with boat situations, our friend (and very first patron!) Captain Boomies has developed…drum roll, please…Windward Curl Seastate Gel. You’re welcome!
7 WAYS YOU CAN HELP HOW NOT TO SAIL (…AND SOME ARE FREE!)
Resources in the Florida Keys
Calypso Canvas and Sail

Kim at Calypso has been super helpful *twice* now when I’ve been in a pickle. I would highly recommend ’em even if they weren’t the only sail shop in the Keys!
Surveyor
Allen was super-helpful, and I could do a whole episode based on his visit. If you need your boat surveyed in the Keys, I would absolutely call or email Allen.

Boatyard
Let me just say that “any port in a storm” if I absolutely had to haul out at this boatyard againโฆbut otherwise, if there IS a next time for hauling out near Key WestโฆI think I’ll try BUDDY’s boatyard…and I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes.

Hull Cleaning
We ran into a helpful fellow, Bill (not my friend and crewman, but another Bill) of Hullโs Angels, who was kind enough to have a look at the chartplotter and cables, and to ping some of his local electronics contacts to try to come help us on a Sunday. Not planning to stay in Stock Island, I canโt really use his companyโs bottom-cleaning service; but if youโre going to be in the Stock Island/Key West area for a while and need bottom cleaning, zincs changed, or whatnot, maybe give โem a call or email.
Facebook Still Sucks
Facebook, of course, prompted me to create an “event” for this episode release…which after me spending a half hour to set things up, then gave me a popup that said I had shown “suspicious activity” and wouldn’t let me post it. One of many reasons it’s better to have this website as the hub of all things How Not To Sail…!
(So wanna weigh in? Just comment on this post (below), or hit me up via email or leave a voicemail…!)
