Thursday I was on the road, somewhere in Middle America. And on the way, I discovered a nautical place in Kentucky…which is the town of Grand Rivers, population 345.

It sits in between the Tennessee and Cumberland rivers (I guess not far from where Pyrate Dave’s at), near their respective damns—which makes for some nice wide water. I was cruising down the highway, and right there out in Northwest Kentucky, I saw…a bunch of sailboat masts. And I knew right away my instinct for where to stop for the night was on point.

Right between the two rivers.

I didn’t actually get out on the water or anything, but it looks like a pretty cool place.

The town is pretty cool, too, if you like quaint historic towns without too many people in ’em…which is very much my M.O.

I’d be curious if any of our #HowNotToSailers have been to Grand Rivers, let alone sailed out of Lighthouse Landing.
