So maybe it was the pitchers of Loose Cannon IPA. But I’ve found in the past that it’s a sure sign of having a good time with friends that I forget to do the social media thing and snap a photo with my smart gadget.
Which was exactly the case with our Annapolis Meetup at Davis’ Pub.Â
Thankfully, I created this super-realistic sketch of the attendees. (I know. My artistry knows no bounds.) There was another couple talking with Kerri and George I should have said hi to, but I guess I’m too slow.

But irregardless, as Our Friend Bill would say, a great time was had by all, as best we recall—and it definitely made the 650-mile trip worthwhile. And thankfully, Sondra and Jan snapped some photos—which, while perhaps not as creative as my amazing illustration above, may provide a more accurate representation of the participants.
Did I mention the new daily podcast?
Aside from avenging my no-show last year due to Hurricane Milton, part this year’s agenda was to promote the new daily podcast, The How Not To Sail Minute. (Which was also a raging success, I understand. If you haven’t subscribed yet, I hope you’ll check it out.)
Like last year (except that I made it this time), all listeners were welcome, and our esteemed Patreon Crew received putatively priceless extras. Like shirts, for those patrons I could talk into taking them.
SUPPORT HOW NOT TO SAIL FOR AS LITTLE AS $3 A MONTH
Big thanks to Kerri for putting my sticker in the Ladies room…

…where it’s in good company with Captain Boomies‘ sticker.

Sadly, we don’t have Captain Boomies or Jeffrey Wettig (of the Shooting The Breeze Sailing Podcast) in the photos. But I assure you, they were there, in full regalia. (See illustration above.)

Also, if Jimmy and Sondra Lee sound familiar in the above photos…you probably recognize them from Ep. 34: Not Always Utopia. And I was tickled stinkless to see they were cruising with Cam and Denise.
Sounds like Sondra and Jimmy had some further adventures aboard Utopia on their way back south from Annapolis…which you can no doubt read about on their blog.
As it turns out, quite a few of this year’s attendees have either been on one of my podcasts (Boomies, Jimmy, Sondra, Cam, Denise, Mitch), or are about to be. (Thomas and Lisa. Looks like I need to get Kerri and George on an episode.) Or I’ve been on theirs. (Captains Boomies and Wettig.)
Irregardless, I’m looking forward to next year…

What could possibly go wrong?
